Work with us
We’re looking for an illustrator!
We are looking for an illustrator to update the image flashcards that help our trainees learn in workshops.
Project fees and timeline
We are a not-for-profit social enterprise, with charitable status currently pending. We have a small budget available and are looking for an individual who is interested in supporting our social mission.
For this project we have a £350 (VAT inclusive) fee available.
The project deadline is Sunday 28th February. This will include a week for the team to review and provide feedback after a sample of three illustrations has been shared with the team.
Illustrator project requirements
Create three sets of digital illustrations for flashcards used in our English and floristry classes, using the images currently used in participant handbooks - view the images here.
As you can see, we’ve been using stock imagery to date. But as the content for our programme has recently been finalised, we want to give participants something beautiful home to take home in their handbooks. We are looking for illustrations that are simple and clear, as well as lovely to look at, as they are visual tools that help our participants to learn.
We may also use your illustrations across our social media channels and website to help tell the story of our work; we will discuss this with you at interview.

About Bread & Roses
Bread & Roses is an award-winning social enterprise florist supporting women from refugee backgrounds to flourish.
Our mission is to equip women with the tools to improve their language skills, receive signposting to local support services and create support networks, enabling them to better navigate the challenges of rebuilding their lives in the UK.
Our support is centred around an eight-week training programme where participants enjoy the therapeutic quality of creating floristry arrangements, which are then sent to sponsors who help to cover the programme running costs.
For more information, read about us here.
Our core team runs Bread & Roses on a voluntary basis, supported by a high calibre of professional volunteers across photography, communications and strategy who work in the commercial sector. We all work flexible schedules and carry out remote work and so will give you the freedom to do the same.
